Catering Kiosks – Unusual Economies of Scale

At first glance, it can seem that food shops hold the aces over catering kiosks. Greater size means greater ability to hold stock, more room for shoppers and in general more potential for custom. However, a closer look shows that this isn’t necessarily the case. Small dimensions can actually be used to your advantage. In this post we take a look at some of the ways in which this can be done.

Catering Kiosks – Cheaper Rent

Owing to the relatively diminutive size of a catering kiosk, the small units require less floor space than many shops – and consequently smaller plots. These smaller plots tend to cost less money than those of shops, which are larger in size. This is a factor that leaves you with more cash to spend on other areas of your catering kiosk business.

Catering Kiosks – Cheaper Running Costs

Again, thanks to the more manageable size of catering kiosks, the structures are generally less costly than shops to run. The food kiosks use less electricity, which means lower energy bills. They also require fewer staff to man, which means the less you have to shell out in wages. The very fact that a kiosk is physically smaller than a shop means that there is not as much that can get damaged, a factor which should result in cheaper maintenance expenses.

Catering Kiosks – Small and Manoeuvrable

While it’s true that many kiosks are often situated in one area for months at a time, the units are not necessarily permanent, in fact they are only semi-permanent. This is a factor that means if the opportunity arises to change to a better location it is quite possible to move a kiosk – certainly a simpler task than transplanting an entire shop.
